A look inside... the Four Counties Wedding Awards Gala 2019
An evening at the Gala 2019
WE WON!!!! Best Newcomer ‘One to Watch’ Award!
(Gold Sequin Backdrop @sequinwallhireuk)
This years Four County Wedding Awards Christmas Gala took place at The Woodland Manor Hotel & Restaurant which recently featured on Channels 4’s Steph and Doms The Great Hotel Escapes. On entering the manor, the Christmas lights set the festive atmosphere for the evenings events. Today was an important day for us because this was our first year in the Wedding Industry and we decided to enter the awards for ourselves! We were up for Best Newcomer and although deep down we wanted to win, we didn’t think we stood a chance due to the caliber and quantity of entrants!!
On arrival, we were greeted by the lovely team at the hotel with some cheeky fizz with orange. The atmosphere was lively and what a treat to hear the talented trio Inis Eire who started off the entertainment for tonights antics, this was a nice touch! Even better Toni from Glamavan was there provided the glitter!!
It was great to meet see some familiar faces that we hadn’t seen for some time such as Jollyboy DJs, who is a total laugh to be around, and our friends over at The Thatch Barn, Yelling.
Some more epic entertainment from the evening included an amazing 360 Photo booth, which I have never seen before and it was a great laugh. It would have been rude not to have a go.
Check it out!
Joyrider were the next on the agenda and they didn’t disappoint. You can’t go wrong with the sultans of swing!
Next stop was dinner and boy were we ready for some good food! We were given a 3 course Christmas feast which was fab! Being a Gluten free vegan too (the fussy one) I am always curious as to what I may be served, but they provided me with a delicious soup, mushroom tartlet and Christmas pudding, so I didn’t feel left out at all!
Our table had a great vibe and some great conversations with the guys over at Offley Place, Nikki from Nikkis Moments and Siobhan from Cambridge Vintage Bridal.
During the desert and after a few G & T’s the raffle began! The sponsors and suppliers had provided some great goodies to be won including a Champneys Package, a make-up session and a beautiful bouquets of flowers. All of the donations and raffle funds went to a fantastic cause The Wedding Wishing Well Foundation, whose sole purpose is to assist with funding couples getting married for the terminally ill.
Up next was the moment we had all been waiting for! The awards!
When the moment came for Best Newcomer, ‘The One to Watch Award’ was called and out came our name! WATERFALL WEDDING DECOR.
Full of emotion and adrenaline, we set off to accept the award on stage from the founder of the Four Counties Wedding Awards, and inspiring womsn, Tracey Butterfield. We had our picture taken on stage by the photographer from the evening Nicola Casey and at the fantastic sparkly gold sequin wall provided by @sequinwallhireuk. It felt so great to be acknowledged for all of our hard work over the past year and getting this award just confirmed that we are heading in the right direction!
And then this happened!! Love this photo and don’t worry, we will be sharing more pictures when we get to see the professional ones taken from the evening!
After all the commotion, it was now time to let our hair down! The DJ started and of course the dance floor was the next step!
The 2019 Wedding season is officially over for most of us and what a fabulous way to celebrate the wins with like-minded people and friends.
.
And here are some of the testimonials that helped us win this year! … Oh and by the way, our couples ROCK!!
“Janine and Craig have created a fabulous business offering a range of wedding decor services. We found them late on in our planning and hired their open air photo booth, which was so stylish and fitted perfectly with our beautiful flower wall and venue. Their service was great and everyone loved how different it was. I would highly recommend them to anyone getting married as they have really fresh and quirky ideas.”
“Simply first class service!! Photobooth was a real hit at our wedding! The waterfalls are so professional but also personal at the same time!! Top company.”
“Waterfall Wedding Décor were very helpful and extremely quick to respond to any of my questions. They were willing to listen to what is was we wanted from our day and be flexible according to our needs, as well as accommodating for a few changes very last minute! I would highly recommend them to any one - the Letters we hired looks stunning in our venue and really set off the whole reception area.”
“We decided we wanted LOVE letters just a week before our wedding and this company were very friendly and accommodating and it finished off the style of our wedding perfectly. In my opinion they are so much nicer than the standard bulb white LOVE letters you see everywhere, they are rustically beautiful. As a new company I feel they deserve this award and I think they will go on to be big in the wedding industry. Thank you, liz”
“I have received exceptional service and communication from Janine and Craig which made the planning very simple and stress free. I loved being part of their facebook community Wed Talks and seeing what other brides to be were planning for their weddings.”
