Audio Guest Book - Setup Instructions
Hi, if you are here then you have hired our audio guest book and you are looking to set it up!
If you can't quite figure it out, or there's something broken or missing, just drop us a text or whatsapp on 07881 286 312 and we will call you back asap.
Unpacking
Once your phone arrives, take it out of the flight case and save any packaging - you will need this for the return.
There will be a new postage bag and if you are taking the phone to a Post Office, a returns label to. If you have paid for collection then the driver will bring the labels
Check you have everything
In the postage bag you will find a hard/jiffy envelope and a flight case. In the envelope will be the info sign and stand. In the flight case will be the phone, handset, curly cable, USB cable, mains charger, B&Co. sticker, return postage bag, return label if required and 2 cable ties.
If anything is missing let us know ASAP!
Connecting the handset
To connect the handset to the phone, take the curly cable and insert one end (either will do) into the socket on the handset - you will hear a click when it locks in. Now take the other end of the cable and insert that into the base of the phone - again a click can be heard when it locks in. The cable will only go in 1 way.
Turning the phone on
Under the main unit, there will be a on/off label next the the switch. The switch slides either way, we have recessed the switch so it doesn't get knocked by accident. Using a pen, or a well manicured nail, gently push the switch to the on position. A blue light will come on and you may hear a greeting play if the handset is not on the phone.
Setting up your greeting
Now the fun bit or you could just leave the generic greeting on the phone... But remember once you travel down the path of adding a personal greeting it overwrites the generic one.
To record a personal greeting (once you know what you are going to say) with the handset on the phone, press and hold the centre button (where the B&Co. logo is) while holding the button you will hear a beep - keep holding that button and now say your greeting close to the phone in a normal voice. Once done just release the button and your greeting will play back to you - it automatically saves so if you nailed it the first time then great, but you can do this as many times as you need.
Once you are done, just turn off the phone till the big day.
How to charge the phone
To charge the phone its a bit like charging a mobile, take the mains charger and the USB lead and connect them, then plug the other end of the lead into the base of the phone - just beside the on / off switch which MUST be in the ON position otherwise this may damage the phone.
A red light on the base will show while charging.
The batteries will come fully charged but we suggest the phone is plugged in prior to use, and where possible is left plugged in during your day. The battery should last between 6-8 hours however.
The big day
On the big day, find a spot away from loud music and noise to setup the phone. Ideally the phone should be plugged in, but if this isn't possible remember the batteries last between 6-8 hours depending on how many people use the phone.
We've included a sign to go with the phone too, just pop the base on it and away you go.
Remember to turn the phone on at the start of the day and off at the end of your day.
IF the phone stops working, first check that the battery hasn't gone flat and the cables are all plugged in correctly.
Returning the phone
So you've had an amazing day and can't wait to hear your messages, so let's get the phone on its way back to us!
First detach that curly cable by pushing down the little tab on the plug and gently pull it out of the handset and phone.
Re-pack the phone, handset, curly cable, USB cable and charger into the flight case with any packaging. Zip tie the case shut and pop the sign and base into the envelope (please but the base to the rear of the sign) and seal using the B&Co. sticker. Keeping any postage label out, place the whole lot in the new postage bag (you can send the old one back for recycling if you wish) and seal.
If you are dropping off at a Post Office, pop the returns label on the bag and take to any Post Office as soon as you can, but definitely within 2 days after your hire please.
If you have paid for collection, then we will have arranged a date with you - we may be able to provide a rough pickup time but this is not guaranteed. The Parcelforce driver will bring the labels to you.
